Jeremy Wurm, Founder

Graduating with a Degree in Pharmacology from Adelaide University, Jeremy’s career began with the Commonwealth Department of Health in Canberra, after which he joined the Shell Company of Australia, as a Management Trainee. Subsequently obtaining a Masters Degree in Psychopharmacology from the University of Melbourne, he worked for nearly three years in a marketing role with a Dutch healthcare multinational, at their international Headquarters.

His first contact with Executive Search came in 1983, when he was approached to move to England, in order to take on a Business Development role with a large British pharmaceutical conglomerate, a position he held for five years. He then joined Ruston Poole International in London, spending two years carrying out senior Executive Search assignments for health and biosciences clients throughout Europe. Jeremy returned to Australia in 1989 after nearly a decade overseas, and established Brooker Consulting in 1999.

He became a Chartered Biologist in 1987, having published in peer-reviewed journals, including a single-author article in "Nature". 

Jeremy was for ten years a Director and Board Member of Vision Australia Foundation, and is an active participant in the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Lesley Lightfoot, Managing Director

Lesley specialises in executive appointments in a number of for-purpose sectors; namely health, human services, biotech, not for profit, and education. With a wealth of experience at the C-suite level, Lesley partners with organisations to provide executive search, assessment and HR advisory services to help them achieve their strategic objectives.

A key part of her ongoing success is her focus on building strong relationships and delivering for all stakeholders with integrity, honesty and professionalism. Lesley’s extensive background in management consulting, research, skills evaluation and leadership appraisal, and her dedication to excellent client and candidate care, ensure the best possible foundation for each assignment.

Lesley is invigorated by her contribution to placing the right leaders into organisations that are committed to making a real difference.

Prior to focusing on executive search and recruitment, Lesley worked in management consulting, operations, project leadership and practice management roles within diverse organisations in Zimbabwe, London, Hong Kong, Melbourne, and Sydney. Lesley holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Economics and Business Economics from the University of South Africa, and has also pursued further studies in Human Resource Management.

Dr Rachel Cameron, Principal

Dr Rachel Cameron is a dynamic, strategic and entrepreneurial executive leader with over 20 years’ experience in healthcare. Her qualifications include PhD Medicine from Sydney University and Stanford University, USA.

 

Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated excellence in innovation and achievement in complex project leadership roles across a broad range of sectors including corporate, hospital, emergency management response, public health, government, not-for-profit, university, pharmacy distribution, R&D technology and consultancy.

 

Her employers have included, but are not limited to, large ASX and NASDAQ listed entities, private companies, government departments, healthcare agencies servicing the aged care and disability sectors as well as remote Indigenous communities nationwide. Rachel has also founded a health-tech start-up in the chronic disease space and has run her own successful generalist healthcare consulting business, highlighting her agility.

 

Rachel possesses superior stakeholder engagement skills demonstrated across project leadership roles in complex health systems, which have necessitated the management of sensitive data, risk and people through times of pressure. Rachel will utilise her unique skill set, and previous search experience, to focus on further developing our consulting activities in the medical technology, biotechnology, healthcare, clinical research and pharmaceutical sectors.

Leighton Cantrill, Senior Consultant

Leighton is an energetic and curious executive search consultant with over 20 years’ national and international experience, across multiple industries. Having developed a deep understanding of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment), Sustainability, Risk and Compliance, Leighton is well placed to partner with Boards and executive teams on immediate recruitment needs as well as long term people strategies.

 

Leighton adopts a true business partnering approach to his work, with an ability to focus on the smaller details while keeping an eye on the big picture, providing a seamless and optimal experience for all. His natural inquisitiveness and innovative thinking enable him to identify and attract high quality and trusted professionals, and build strong shortlists and teams, even within challenging markets.

 

Throughout his career Leighton has worked in both internal and agency roles in Melbourne, Sydney, and further afield in London and Vancouver. Most recently, Leighton’s leadership within the Health, Safety & Environmental recruitment space expanded in scope to include a deeper focus on Wellbeing and other organisational needs that have evolved in recent years.

 

Leighton is energised by achieving successful outcomes for the organisations he partners with, through his thorough and people-centred approach and his passion for delivering excellent service for his clients and candidates.

Prue Lacey, Business Operations Lead

Prue has a wealth of experience in the executive search and recruitment arena. With a background in recruitment administration, Prue's extensive skillset enables her to support all stages of the end-to-end management of search assignments, report preparation and client/candidate liaison for executive appointments.

 

Working closely with the Brooker consultant team, Prue is the key liaison point between clients, candidates and our specialised service providers. Prue's exceptional organisational capabilities align to ensure that all recruitment assignments are delivered to the highest standard.
