Jeremy Wurm, Founder
Graduating with a Degree in Pharmacology from Adelaide University, Jeremy’s career began with the Commonwealth Department of Health in Canberra, after which he joined the Shell Company of Australia, as a Management Trainee. Subsequently obtaining a Masters Degree in Psychopharmacology from the University of Melbourne, he worked for nearly three years in a marketing role with a Dutch healthcare multinational, at their international Headquarters.
His first contact with Executive Search came in 1983, when he was approached to move to England, in order to take on a Business Development role with a large British pharmaceutical conglomerate, a position he held for five years. He then joined Ruston Poole International in London, spending two years carrying out senior Executive Search assignments for health and biosciences clients throughout Europe. Jeremy returned to Australia in 1989 after nearly a decade overseas, and established Brooker Consulting in 1999.
He became a Chartered Biologist in 1987, having published in peer-reviewed journals, including a single-author article in "Nature".
Jeremy was for ten years a Director and Board Member of Vision Australia Foundation, and is an active participant in the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Lesley Lightfoot, Managing Director
Lesley specialises in executive appointments in a number of for-purpose sectors; namely health, human services, biotech, not for profit, and education. With a wealth of experience at the C-suite level, Lesley partners with organisations to provide executive search, assessment and HR advisory services to help them achieve their strategic objectives.
A key part of her ongoing success is her focus on building strong relationships and delivering for all stakeholders with integrity, honesty and professionalism. Lesley’s extensive background in management consulting, research, skills evaluation and leadership appraisal, and her dedication to excellent client and candidate care, ensure the best possible foundation for each assignment.
Lesley is invigorated by her contribution to placing the right leaders into organisations that are committed to making a real difference.
Prior to focusing on executive search and recruitment, Lesley worked in management consulting, operations, project leadership and practice management roles within diverse organisations in Zimbabwe, London, Hong Kong, Melbourne, and Sydney. Lesley holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Economics and Business Economics from the University of South Africa, and has also pursued further studies in Human Resource Management.
Michelle Lyon, Principal
Michelle brings a wealth of experience in executive search and selection, and interim management solutions.
Michelle has over 15 years' experience in executive search, firstly partnering with FMCG and consumer-led businesses, then working with sectors that have social impact: health, education, government, and not-for-profit organisations.
Over the last three years Michelle has specialised in working with clients who require an immediate executive resource. She is expert at sourcing highly agile and capable talent who have the technical and human skills to fulfil a short-term leadership gap.
Michelle attracts qualified professionals across senior management to join the Brooker Consulting Interim Talent Pool. She works with portfolio career professionals as well as executives who are in-between permanent roles, helping them to find engaging assignments to complement their careers.
Earlier in her career, Michelle held senior marketing roles in hotels and not-for-profit organisations, after completing a Hotel Management degree at Bentley College.
Prue McBeath, Business Operations Lead
Prue has a wealth of experience in the executive search and recruitment arena. With a background in recruitment administration, Prue's extensive skillset enables her to support all stages of the end-to-end management of search assignments, report preparation and client/candidate liaison for executive appointments.
Working closely with the Brooker consultant team, Prue is the key liaison point between clients, candidates and our specialised service providers. Prue's exceptional organisational capabilities align to ensure that all recruitment assignments are delivered to the highest standard.
